I just love the graphics and lettering in this, since working with retail interiors I found out graphics are very important.
I was think I might get them printed and hang them in my kitchen.

Behind the bright lights of Oxford Circus lays a vintage store I worked in for a while and grew to love.
For 6 months my destination was a store called ‘Beyond Retro‘. The job came with its highs; occasional getting to meet celebrities like Rihanna who came in for a browse one day. (I know, little me living the high life).
The shop is filled with clothes dating back to the 1920’s, all extremely colourful just like the staff. I managed musicians, artist and Dj’s; all very talented and creative people. You’d see Matty skating around the shop. Don’t be scared if you see a vampire lurking in the corner that was only a customer.
I was flattered when asked to join some workmates for a photo shoot for ‘Company’ magazine 2011 Christmas issue: any excuse for me to dress up. I wore a light blue 1950’s prom dress with sparkly blue shoes and bright red lipstick which I borrowed from a colleague. I’d like to think it all fitted in with the shops unique retro style.
I would recommend visiting the shop if you are ever in London it’s a unique experience and the staff our super friendly. And, take my word; you’ll definitely pick up a bargain or two!
Found these glorious pictures from LIFE magazine. With Coachella starting today, I’d say we’ll be seeing a lot more of the 70’s style in the press but for ordinary me I’m thinking this summer I might start dressing more trippy dippy hippy. I attracted to the freeness and easiness of the style. I need to find all the old photos of my mum and dad in the 70’s to show you.
